Shell is ovoid, flattened in the lateral view. Aperture is wide, invaginated and slightly eccentric. Anterior walls of the aperture attach to the dorsal side with several appendages creating a complex system of inner partitioning. Shell may or may not be ornamented with spines of varying number and length. Type species: Armipyxis disoides Dekhtiar, 2009 (basionym Centropyxis discoides Penard, 1902). The genus also includes A. mirabilis (Bartoš, 1940) Dekhtiar, 2009 (basionym Centropyxis mirabilis Bartoš, 1940) and A. gasparella (Chardez et Beyens, 1988) Dekhtiar, 2009 (basionym Centropyxis gasparella Chardez et Beyens, 1988)
