Описание:

Small protists living within a lorica of scales, with a single emergent flagellum visible with the light microscope, marine. Regarded as widespread in distribution. One species has been assigned to Paulinella, a genus of amoebae, and at least one other is a heterokont. (по: Larsen, Patterson, 1991)
