Описание:

Nucleocercomonas with a body length of 10.3 0 12.8 µm and a body width of 7.9–10.3 µm. The anterior flagellum is very long, it has a length of 3.2–3.9× the body length, the posterior flagellum is 1.4–2.1 × the body length. The cells are spherical or ovoid; they are moderately metabolic, but change their shape quickly. Gliding was not observed. The most frequent forms are non-gliding, amoeboid forms, where the posterior flagellum attaches to the surface but not the cell body; these cells produce bulbous, filose and lamellar pseudopodia anywhere along the cell emerging to the water body. Filose and lamellar pseudopodia may reach the surface and attach to it. Non-gliding amoeboid forms, where the cell body attaches to the surface, are oval, triangular or hump-shaped; they produce bulbose, filose and elongated lamellar pseudopodia. The species forms holoplasmodia. One or two contractile vacuoles are situated mostly at the posterior cell part, but occasionally occur laterally or anteriorly. Strongly refractile cytoplasmic granules are not found. Small spherical extrusomes were observed underneath the plasma membrane. (по: Braberder et al., 2012)
